Picture Plant Description
Image of KING OF THE AGES KING OF THE AGES
$75.00

(Karol Emmerich - 2007) Photos of Karol Emmerich's cultivars can be viewed at Springwood Gardens.

TET 55902 {Light of the World x (Only Believe x Uppermost Edge)}, 38”, M, Sev, EMO, fr, 6 ½”, consistent 4-way branching (2 lats plus V), 20 buds. Clear ivory pink peach apricot (darker apricot on cool nights) with ivory pink midribs; burgundy eye and edge with gold ruffles; yellow to green throat. Not just another eyed daylily! It’s majestic and tall – a surprise given its breeding. Strong scapes; good increaser; great foliage all season; re-establishes quickly after dividing. Trust me – you will love this one! (Please note: scape is large so in year one with one fan the scape may lean a bit – not a problem once it’s established with 2 or more fans.) Kids are tall and well-branched with showy eyes. Fertile both ways but more difficult than average pod-setter.

TET {Light of the World x (Only Believe x Eyes on the Prize)}, 24”, M, Dor, EMO, fr, 7”, mixed scapes with average of 2 way branching and 15 buds. Puffy apricot peach with orange red eye and edge trimmed in small yellow gold ruffles; gold to green throat. Dramatic flower; midribs make the eye “pop”. Fertile both ways; more difficult than average pod fertility.

(Karol Emmerich - 2003) Photos of Karol Emmerich's cultivars can be viewed at Springwood Gardens.

TET {(Wisest of Wizards x Seedling) x Jenny Kissed Me} 24”, M, Sev, 5-½ to 6”, consistent 3-way branching with perfect spacing and 25 buds, EMO even on cold mornings and still looks great at 8PM, greenhouse rebloomer. Soft yellow with a slight pink blush. Feathered rose pink eye and edge; olive throat. Super garden performer – long season with lots of bloom – spectacular in a clump. Hardy and a rapid increaser. Fertile both ways. Good breeder for round, patterned and edged daylilies, as well as doubles.

Image of MADAME PELE MADAME PELE
$75.00

(Frank Smith - FALL 2006) Photos of Frank Smith's cultivars can be viewed at Frank Smith Daylilies.

TET (Mister Lucky x Crazy Ivan), semi evergreen. 6" flower, 4-way branching. 30 buds on a 33" scape.
MADAME PELE is a brilliant orangey-coral flower with a very striking crimson eye and heavily ruffled crimson edge. This has been a real eye catcher in the garden. MADAME PELE is one of the first progeny of Crazy Ivan we have introduced. It is one of the largest red-eyed and red-edged daylilies we’ve seen.
Fertile both ways

Image of MARSEILLES WATER COLOR MARSEILLES WATER COLOR

(Pat Stamile - 2008) Photos of Pat Stamile's cultivars can be viewed at Floyd Cove Nursery.

(Tholian Web x Bit Of Blue) 31” EERe. emo.nofr. Ev. 5.25” x 2.5” x 1.75”. 5-way branching. 35 buds.
Totally unlike its sib BARCODE with its distinct bands, MARSEILLES WATERCOLOR always reminds me of a watercolor. The colors are so soft and seemingly melt into each other so it is difficult to discern where one color ends and the other begins. The exception, of course, is the bright fuchsia outer eye band which repeats onto the edge.
One of the earliest patterned daylilies to bloom in the garden, MARSEILLES WATERCOLOR displays great floriferousness with multiple branching and bloom providing terrific color impact, great bud count and branching. Fertile both ways.

Image of MISS ELLENEOUS MISS ELLENEOUS
$50.00

(Reed, ’09)   50”  MLa  8”  dor.dip.ext.  Unusual Form – pinched crispate (very consistent).  Large, late, tall, and pinkish.

This bloom has size, form, substance, presence, and personality.  The color is muted pink, with a large yellow-cream throat (green deep in the throat).  The sepals quill and curl and the petals are ruffled.  Parentage unknown, this has been a favorite garden flower for the late season for some time. Scapes are erect and the bud count is just adequate (around 12). Difficult pod parent.  Really nice dancing in the late garden!  It is a bud builder still in bloom at the end of August. Actual budcount is higher with good culture.

Image of MISS LULA MAE MISS LULA MAE
$40.00

(Frank Smith - FALL 2006) Photos of Frank Smith's cultivars can be viewed at Frank Smith Daylilies.

TET (Front Porch Swing x Spanish Wedding Gown), semi evergreen. 6-1/2" — 7" flower, 4-way branching. 28 buds on a 30" scape.
MISS LULA MAE is a HUGE very flat flower. The center half of this large polychrome flower is a beautiful waxy green. The outer edge of the petals is a contrasting citron.
Fertile both ways

Image of MORPHOS DANCE MORPHOS DANCE
$85.00

(Pat Stamile - 2008) Photos of Pat Stamile's cultivars can be viewed at Floyd Cove Nursery.

(Azure Wings x Linguini)  37” Ere. emo. Ev. (11” wingspan)  10” x 1” x .75”. 5-way branching. 30-35 buds. Classic spider. Spider ratio 5.0:1.
MORPHO’S DANCE is a bitone but with rich clear lavender petals and pale lavender sepals. I believe bitones and bicolors are under-utilized in the modern daylily. This is especially true in the spider class where you can so clearly see the sepals since they are rarely overlapped by the petals.
One of my personal favorites among this years spiders MORPHO’S DANCE is sheer joy in the garden. Fertile both ways but a very difficult pod parent.

Image of MOUNT RAINIER MOUNT RAINIER
$75.00

(Frank Smith - FALL 2006) Photos of Frank Smith's cultivars can be viewed at Frank Smith Daylilies.TET (Believe In Magic x Sea Biscuit), semi evergreen. 6" flower, 5-way branching. 30 buds on a 32" scape.
MOUNT RAINIER is a very flat near-white flower with a distinct ruffled gold edge. A great garden performer.
Fertile both ways - $75

Image of NEW EVERY MORNING NEW EVERY MORNING
$50.00

(Karol Emmerich - 2008) Photos of Karol Emmerich's cultivars can be viewed at Springwood Gardens.

TET (Taken By Storm x Born to Reign), 34”, M, Sev, fr, 6”, instant Re in GH and some MN rebloom, average 3-way branching with 2 well-spaced laterals and 11-21 buds with average of 15. Rose cranberry bitone with etched pink watermark and small gold edge; yellow to green throat. All blooms consistent on a given day, but every day is different in terms of the color range – hence the name Rapid increaser. Fertile both ways but difficult pollen parent.

Image of NINTH MILLENIUM NINTH MILLENIUM
$100.00

(Ted Petit - 2008) Photos of Ted Petit's cultivars can be viewed at Le Petit Jardin.

(Susan Pritchard Petit x Gary Colby) x (Richard Taylor Yates x Unlock the Stars) Sev. 6.5" fl. 26" sc. M 20 buds. What beautiful, rich color in a double flower. The self color is a dark, saturated plum to burgundy purple. At the center of the flower is a deep green throat. The petal and petaloid edges are nicely ruffled. Adding to the beauty are the bubbly gold edges surrounding the petals and petaloids.

Image of OCEANS ELEVEN OCEANS ELEVEN

(Ted Petit - 2005) Photos of Ted Petit's cultivars can be viewed at Le Petit Jardin

(Magical Passes x Tet. Dragon Dreams) Sev. 5” fl. 20” sc. M. 20 buds.  Ocean’s Eleven has the bluest eye of any flower in Petit’s garden.  He has  often described previous introductions as having “blue violet” eyes.  He had  never before used the word “navy” in describing the color of any of his  cultivars.  But, to his eye, Ocean’s Eleven has an eye of dark navy blue (hence the name) with layers of charcoal, surrounded by a burgundy mascara band.  The base color is a very pleasing cream yellow.  These flowers are strongly recommended for blue eye breeding.

Image of ORCHID WATERFALL ORCHID WATERFALL

Image of PEAK EXPERIENCE PEAK EXPERIENCE
$75.00

(Reed, 2010)  56”  MLa  8”  dormant diploid

Named after my cat, Peak, and my love of mountains, this tall daylily is commanding.  The garden name has been “Tall, late, silvery lavender pink” which says it all.  It is a very large bloom, outfacing, and the cool pale pink is set off with a cream appliqué throat color/watermark.

Image of RHUBARB PIE RHUBARB PIE
$120.00

(Pat Stamile - FALL 2007) Photos of Pat Stamile's cultivars can be viewed at Floyd Cove Nursery.

(Cerise Masterpiece x Roses And Gold) 30” ERe. emo. no fr. Ev. 6 ½” x 3 ¾” x 2 ½”. 5-way branching (3 laterals + terminal Y). 25-30 buds.  This is one neat flower. It is always admired in the garden but no two flowers are quite alike even though all are beautiful. It is not the color that varies but rather the form of the flower. Sometimes the flowers display elaborate “angel wings” along with normal flutes and ruffles. At other times the flowers display “pillowing” where the edge is raised off the surface of the flower before it is edged in white.

The flowers are a deep raspberry. Those who might remember rhubarb know the color I am referring to. Outside the chartreuse throat is a blue rose halo. There are also occasional white sharks teeth and sometimes the edging is displayed in both white and gold. In short, this flower has it all – just do not expect the form to be consistent. A good breeder. Fertile both ways.

Image of RICHARD TAYLOR YATES RICHARD TAYLOR YATES
$100.00

(Ted Petit - 2007) Photos of Ted Petit's cultivars can be viewed at Le Petit Jardin

[(Susan Pritchard Petit x Formal Appearance) x Nature’s Crown ] [(Unlock The Stars x Inner Space)] Sev. 6.5 - 7” fl. 28” sc. M 15 - 20 buds.  This has been one of my all time favorite doubles since its maiden bloom.  I have always loved the formal look of hose-in-hose doubles, and Richard Taylor Yates is probably my finest creation to date.  These flowers combine formal doubling with a heavy popcorn gold edge.  The flowers are a beautiful rose pink with a lighter pink watermark.  Very special indeed, and fertile both ways.

Image of ROLLING RAVEN ROLLING RAVEN
$100.00

(Pat Stamile - 2008) Photos of Pat Stamile's cultivars can be viewed at Floyd Cove Nursery.

(Wild And Free X Scarecrow) 38” EMRe. emo. Ev. 10.25” x 1.875” x 1.25”. 2-way branching. 14 buds. Spider. Spider ratio 4.3:1.
ROLLING RAVEN is our blackest spider to date. Rich red black, velvety and sun resistant ROLLING RAVEN is outstanding. Unlike most black spiders which tend to be small or have trouble opening flat ROLLING RAVEN at 10” is huge and flowers open flat right from the throat which is chartreuse as opposed to yellow gold.
The form on ROLLING RAVEN is outstanding with large open flowers with no overlap in the throat and small closure numbers. The petals and sepals twist and curl to give the illusion of a pinwheel.
ROLLING RAVEN is also important for its relative ease of fertility. Tet spiders are notoriously difficult to set pods on. ROLLING RAVEN, while not as east as say WINDMASTER or some full forms, is an easy pod parent. For a true spider of this size to be an easy pod parent is remarkable. Pollen Fertile as well.

Image of ROSE HEAT ROSE HEAT
$120.00

(Pat Stamile - FALL 2007) Photos of Pat Stamile's cultivars can be viewed at Floyd Cove Nursery.

[(Rose Fireglow x Magic Lake) X Roses And Gold] 31” MRe. Emo. Ev. 6” x 3 ¾” x 2 ¼”. 5-way branching (3 laterals + terminal Y). 50 buds.  There is a fiery orange undertone to this clear vibrant rose red that underscores its name. The image shows a typical flower early in the season. Like all edged varieties the edge will double as it gets warmer. The edge is a bright gold that becomes a more orange gold as the weather becomes increasingly warm.

A wonderful parent with fabulous scapes and excellent plant habit and plant balance. ROSE HEAT has been helpful in our gold edged red program to get size and excellent scapes into the brighter gold edged reds. Excellent. Fertile both ways.

Image of SECRET OF CONTENTMENT SECRET OF CONTENTMENT
$125.00

(Karol Emmerich - 2008) Photos of Karol Emmerich's cultivars can be viewed at Springwood Gardens.

TET 31002 {(Lifting Me Higher x Absolute Treasure) x (Senegal x JT Davis)}, 30”, late-mid, Sev, 6-6-1/2”, Re, mixed scapes with average 3-way branching (1 lat plus V) and 18 buds (range of 14-24). Pink lavender with lighter pink lavender sepals; dark lavender band; small lavender and larger yellow ivory edge; yellow to green throat. Very, very ruffled (see GH picture on inside front cover), but almost always opens well. Very hardy and nice spring foliage. Emerges very late - don’t worry – just leave it alone – it seems to know not to poke its head out until the last frosts are gone. Below average increaser. Starts blooming here in early August, as do most of its kids, so a real season extender for the garden. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED as a hybridizing flower - a BREAKTHROUGH PARENT for extravagant ruffling in northern hardy kids with good scapes.   Fertile both ways, but pods don’t usually carry a large number of seeds.

Miller, M. 2007   Cultivar info and photos can be viewed at Small World Gardens.

Tet ('Ferengi Gold' X 'Tar and Feather') Re, EM, Ev, 28", 6", 4 way branching carrying 25 buds.  Named for my Great Uncle and a wonderful man. Bold bright yellow flower with green cast to it. Should be a great parent for that green that everyone is looking for.  Great branching and bud count.  Fertile both ways.

Miller, M. 2007   Cultivar info and photos can be viewed at Small World Gardens.

Dip ('Wilson Spider' X 'Green Widow') Re., E, Dor., 45", 6 1/4", UF, 4 way branching 28 buds. 'Small World Grasshopper' is an awesome unusual form with its vibrant green throat and nice movement.  It has great plant habits and is a very showy garden performer.  Both pod and pollen fertile.
