Hemaday Haven

Welcome Picture

The old saying goes, "An apple a day keeps the doctor away."  Well perhaps a daylily a day can do the same!  Daylily fans often refer to daylilies as hems which is short for Hemerocallis.   Thus, the name Hemaday Haven arises.

This is the personal website for Roma Radford's daylilies.  I do not have any plants for sale at this time.  For now, I just want to have a list of my plants online where I can see them from any computer.  I hope to add several pictures this coming bloom season.  I also want to eventually show the results of some crosses (such as the examples on Bill Jarvis' site ) to encourage other folks to try their hand at daylily hybridizing.

I am also the person behind DaylilyFans.com. I hope that DaylilyFans.com will make it easier for others to put daylily related information online.

The picture above is of my oldest daughter and me at the 2006 Region 3 regional in Charlottesville, VA.  I was a bus captain that day, but she gladly took over the whistle-blowing duties.  We have since moved about 30 minutes south of Richmond, VA to be closer to family.  I still keep in touch with the Charlottesville group.   They are a great group and have a wonderful club.  Now that we are settling into the new house, I am starting to participate more in the Richmond club.
