Mahan Daylilies are grown in the small town of Elm Springs, in the Ozark Mountain foothills of Northwest Arkansas. Our zone 6/7 provides an excellent growing climate starting in early April, and often lasting through mid-November.

Our hybridizing began in 2001, with the traditional form of flower, using older cultivars, as well as some of the newer ones. Current seedlings are a mix of old and new cultivars. Many of the daylilies are unusual forms, spiders and “exotics”. Large and small flower sizes are represented, from a wide-range of hybridizers.

In 2008, Mahan’s first seven daylilies were registered. Evaluation of some unusual form, as well as traditional form seedlings is underway for possible future registration.
